Objective
- Demonstrate transforming raw application data into actionable insights and interactive dashboards using GCP's data analytics services.
- Enable attendees to work with data from the migrated Sales and Inventory application (and potentially supplementary external data).
- Provide hands-on experience with BigQuery for data warehousing/analysis and Looker Studio for visualisation.
Key Hands-On Activities
- Data Integration & Analysis in BigQuery:
- Load/connect to the Sales and Inventory application's Cloud SQL database within BigQuery.
- Upload a provided CSV dataset (e.g., additional sales transactions, customer demographics) into BigQuery.
- Perform SQL queries in BigQuery to analyse the combined data.
- Dashboard Creation in Looker Studio:
- Build interactive dashboards in Looker Studio based on the BigQuery queries.
