Objective
- Provide hands-on experience migrating a simulated on-premises application (Sales & Inventory Web App: VM & Database) to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Enable attendees to execute the migration using Google's native tools within their dedicated GCP projects.
- Achieve a functional application replica in GCP, verify data consistency, and compare with the original on-premises setup.
Key Hands-On Activities
- VM Migration: Utilize Migrate for Compute Engine (or potentially Google Cloud VMware Engine connectors) to migrate the application Virtual Machine.
- Database Migration: Migrate the application database (e.g., MySQL/PostgreSQL) to Cloud SQL.
